In November, 2010 I heard about the Ford Focus Contest and decided to enter it. The assignment was to make a video explaining what I would do with $10,000 to "Start Something More" for my favority Charity, which is Love Without Boundaries. (www.lovewithoutboundaries.com) This Charity helps orphaned children in China. I am the Nutrition and Orphanage Assistance Director for this foundation. With the $10,000 I said I would provide formula for babies orphaned babies in China.With no filming experience, I put together a 2 minute film and submitted it to Ford as part of the contest. All submissions were due by Dec. 31, but mine was submitted in November. During the ensuing weeks, people went to the Ford Facebook page to view and "LOVE" the videos.
On January 25, 2011, I was extended an invitation to be one of the 40 finalists in the contest. That means that Love Without Boundaries will receive $10,000 for formula for children in China and I will be attending the Global Test Drive in Madrid, Spain in about 3 weeks, along with my personal travelling companion and husband, Darrell. There, I will test drive a new Ford Focus and learn more about the Program that I will be participating in for the next few months. What an exciting prospect...to receive such a wonderful donation for LWB and to travel to somewhere I have never been. Stay tuned for more exciting information news!
